This workshop allows participants to discover donkeys in a fun and educational way, while learning to interact with them in a respectful and safe manner.

This formula is intended for a group, this time of discovery will be organized beforehand with the person responsible for the group.

Here is the possible course of the activity "Discovering the donkey" for a group of children or for a specialized public (minimum 2h):

• Welcome : Participants are welcomed. Safety rules will be explained before interaction with the animals.
• Interaction with the donkeys : Participants are invited to interact with the donkeys in a variety of ways, such as brushing them, feeding them, or petting them. The facilitator guides participants through these interactions to ensure their safety and the safety of the animals.
• Ride : Participants can then take a short ride with the donkeys, holding the lead or walking beside them.

    We offer practical sessions to learn how to prepare your donkey before a hike in complete safety, such as brushing, hoof cleaning, positioning the pack-saddle and securing the luggage on your animal. You will also discover how to lead a donkey on a hike, learning the right gestures and positions to adopt, as well as how to prepare a comfortable bivouac for your animal. We are passionate about donkeys and believe that our introductory program will help you to better understand and care for these wonderful animals, while allowing you to enjoy the beauty of nature while hiking with your donkey.

• Preparation of the donkey for the hike.

This initiation will teach you how to prepare your donkey for a safe ride. You will learn how to brush your animal correctly to avoid skin irritations, how to clean the hooves to avoid pains and infections, how to put the pack-saddle so that your donkey can carry the luggage in a balanced way, and how to secure the luggage to avoid falls. You will thus have the bases for a successful excursion with your donkey.

• Driving a donkey while hiking.

Hiking with a donkey can be an amazing experience, but it can also be difficult if you don't know how to drive it. In this introduction, you will learn the gestures and positions to adopt in order to walk with your donkey safely. You will also learn how to handle tricky situations, such as when your donkey doesn't want to move, without resorting to abuse.

• Preparation of the bivouac for the donkey.

Your donkey deserves as much comfort as you do during your bivouac in the wilderness. In this initiation, you will learn how to prepare a comfortable bivouac for your animal. You'll learn about the priorities for your donkey's safety and well-being, such as where to rest and feed, clues for comfortable and safe terrain, and how to tie your donkey up to avoid accidents. This will allow you to enjoy your wilderness adventure with your faithful companion.
